Texas Holdem Poker Online

"No limit Texas Holdem is the Cadillac of Poker", says Matt Damon's character Mike McDermott in the cult Poker flick Rounders. This statement is in fact dead-on accurate, as no game tests your skills (or your will) more than no-limit Texas Holdem. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this variation of Poker (anyone, really?), the game is really quite simple.

  • First, the two players seated to the immediate left of the dealer will post the small and big blinds.
  • Each player is then dealt two hole cards face down, and bets are made.
  • If two or more players have paid to see a flop (first three community cards), the dealer will then deal three community cards face up. These are to be used by all players in the hand. Bets are then made.
  • If two or more players have paid to see a turn (4th community card), the dealer will then deal another card face up. Bets are made once again.
  • If two or more players remain in the hand after the turn, the dealer will then deal the fifth and final community card, called the River. Players may use any combination of their hole cards and the community cards to make the best five-card hand possible.
  • Of course, the game isn't as cut and dry as these instructions make it out to be. There are many nuances to the game that can only be mastered with time and experience. PokerStars.com is our choice as the top online Poker room, especially for beginners. There you can learn all about how to play the game, as well as how to master it.

This percentage is commonly referred to as the "rake". PokerStars' rake never exceeds $5. Your poker money and account balance at PokerStars is held in an individual account that is not used to cover any of PokerStars' operational expenses. Furthermore, your account is managed by a leading European bank to ensure that PokerStars will be able at all times to fulfill its monetary obligations toward its players.
