Basics of Bingo

Bingo is a game that is wildly popular both here in North America, as well as in Europe. While it's widely known that Bingo consists of a bunch of numbers and letters being called out, non-Bingo players might be confused as to how exactly the game works. With that in mind, let's begin by going over the basics of the game.

You begin playing a game of Bingo by purchasing a Bingo card. In real life, this card is a cardboard sheet with a numbered grid printed on it. You can play more than one Bingo card at a time, but certain Bingo halls will impose a limit on this number. All of the money collected through the sale of these Bingo cards goes into a pool. The Bingo hall will take a percentage of the total prize pool as its fee for running the game, and the rest goes to winning players. The game begins as a Bingo speaker draws Bingo balls out of a machine, and calls out the letter and number. For example, if the speaker calls out "B12", then any player with B12 on his Bingo card will cross it off. The first player to cross off all of his numbers must shout Bingo, and will thus win the game.

Bingo is played slightly differently in North America than it is in Europe. Here in North America, Bingo is played with 75 balls, while in Europe the game is played with 90 balls. In the 75-ball version of the game, cards are square-shaped, and are printed with numbers ranging from 1-75 in a 5x5 grid. Not all numbers on grid are used however, as a shape is announced prior to the start of a Bingo game (star, square, diamond, etc), and players compete to achieve this shape. In the 90-ball version of the game, the player card is rectangular in shape, and up to all 90 numbers can be used. Numbers are divided along three lines, with five numbers appearing per line. In this version, the prize is pool is awarded in the following format: a prize awarded to the first player to complete one line; a prize awarded to the first player to complete two lines; and a prize awarded to the first player to complete three lines. The same player could conceivably win all three prizes in one Bingo game.

This is basically how the game of Bingo works. While some casinos will add their own touch of glamor to the game, the rules will remain the same across the board. Thanks to its fun and simple nature, it's easy to see why Bingo has become one of the most popular games in the world.

Playing Bingo Online

While people have had the option of playing games such as Online Slots, Online Blackjack, Online Poker and others for years now, online Bingo is a relative newcomer to the internet.

Until slightly after the turn of the century, Bingo was played almost solely in live Bingo halls. Thanks to the popularity explosion of the internet however, Bingo became a game that you could play whenever you'd like, and in the comfort of your own home. While thousands of online Bingo websites now exist, Bingo enthusiasts from all over the world, especially the US, have taken a particular liking to a select few. When choosing an online Bingo site to play at, the registration process is one that should take no more than a few moments to complete. As soon as you've finished this process, you can get in on some of the best Bingo action that you'll ever come across. An important feature found at any reputable online Bingo site is the ability to track your game-play history, transaction history, and current status.

For those of you that are new to online Bingo, most Bingo websites offer a large selection of free games to get you acclimated to the online Bingo world. More experienced online Bingo players will be happy to jump into the action of real-money Bingo games right away. To begin playing online Bingo for real money, you must make a deposit into your player account using a credit card, e-wallet or alternative deposit option such as a wire transfer. Anyone playing any game online for real money should be aware that there are plenty of fraudulent websites on the internet that seek to merely take your money. For this reason, make sure that the Bingo website that you are viewing is a genuine Bingo website, and not a cheap imitation. To avoid this problem, play only at Bingo websites recommended by a trusted source, such as our review team here at New Slots Games Casinos. While Bingo is not our game of choice, we have played at several online Bingo websites and find that one stands above the rest: BingoRoom.com.
