Gap
A straight draw hand with a missing inside card. For example, in a hand such as 7, 8, 9, J, the one gap would be the 10. In a hand such as 4, 6, 8, the two gaps would be the 5 and the 7.
Open End
An open-ended straight draw is a much more likely hand to complete than an inside straight draw, as there are twice as many cards in the deck (8 as opposed 4) that will make your hand. An example of an open-ended straight draw: 7, 8, 9, 10. You can acquire a 6 or a Jack to make your straight.
